DESCRIPTION:Summer is here\, and Cub Scout Pack 662 is ready to make it unforgettable! Whether you’re already part of our growing Pack or are curious about Cub Scouting for your child\, the Summer 2025 schedule is packed with fun\, friendship\, and family-friendly adventures that showcase the best of what we do. We warmly invite both returning scouts and new families to join us for these exciting events. \nOpen to All – Bring a Friend!\nEvery activity on our Summer 2025 calendar is open to current members and new families who want to check out what Pack 662 is all about. These events are not just about having fun (although there’s plenty of that!)—they’re also an opportunity to build confidence\, learn new skills\, and make lifelong memories. Whether you’re looking for community\, outdoor adventure\, or a program that helps shape character in boys and girls\, this is the perfect time to see what we offer. \nJune: Kicking Off Summer with Local Favorites\nWe’re starting strong in June! On June 13\, we head to Nibble Chocolate for a behind-the-scenes Chocolate Factory Tour—a deliciously educational experience for all ages. The very next day\, June 14\, we’ll honor our nation during a moving Flag Retirement Ceremony at Walnut Grove Park. It’s a great way for scouts to show respect and patriotism in a meaningful setting. \nThen\, from June 23–27\, we take on a week of adventure at the Palomar District Scout Day Camp at Kit Carson Park. This is a highlight of the summer—full of crafts\, archery\, games\, and outdoor challenges that bring the Scouting spirit to life. \nJuly: Sky\, Stars\, and Splashing Fun\nJuly brings more hands-on fun\, starting with the classic Raingutter Regatta on July 13—a Pack favorite where scouts race their handmade boats and cheer each other on. Then on July 18\, we reach for the stars during The Sky Tonight Show at Palomar Planetarium. Science and space come alive in a fascinating show that captivates all ages. \nWe’ll wrap up July with Movies in the Park at Sunset Park on July 25\, where families can kick back under the stars for a relaxed evening with the Pack community. \nAugust: Coastal Adventures\nIn August\, we take advantage of our beautiful coastal surroundings. On August 10\, join us for a family-friendly Hike in Annie’s Canyon at Solana Beach—an easy yet scenic trail that’s perfect for scouts of all ages. SUMMARY:Welcome Back Movie Night – Pack 662 Kicks Off the New 2025-2026 Scouting Year
DESCRIPTION:There’s no better way to kick off another exciting year of scouting than by gathering together under the stars for a fun\, relaxed evening with friends. Pack 662’s Welcome Back Movie Night is your chance to reconnect after summer break\, welcome new faces\, and enjoy a family-friendly movie in a casual\, outdoor setting. \nDate: Sunday\, August 17\, 2025Time: 6:30 PMLocation: The Moose – Escondido Lodge 1874\, 25721 Jesmond Dene Rd\, Escondido\, CA 92026 \nInstead of our originally scheduled beach cleanup\, we’ll be swapping sandy shores for popcorn and a big screen. Don’t worry—our service projects aren’t going away! We’ll be participating in a Coastal Cleanup event in September\, so you can still get your hands dirty for a good cause later this fall. \nA Night to Connect and Celebrate\nWhether your Scout has been counting the days until their next adventure or is brand new to our pack\, this is the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Scouts are encouraged to invite a friend—sharing the joy of scouting is one of the best ways to grow our community. \nWe’re asking all Scouts to come dressed in their Class B uniforms (Pack 662 t-shirt) for a comfortable and spirited evening. Parents and siblings are warmly invited to join in on the fun. \nWhat to Bring\nTo make the most of the outdoor movie experience\, here’s what we recommend: \n\n\nCamping chair for a comfortable seat \n\n\nBlanket if the evening turns cool \n\n\nA friend to introduce to scouting! \n\n\nThe pack will provide popcorn and drinks\, so you can just relax and enjoy the evening. \nWhy We’re Excited\nMovie nights like these aren’t just about watching a film—they’re about building connections. We know the magic of scouting happens not only on hikes\, service projects\, and campouts\, but also during moments when we come together as a community. This casual gathering is a great way for our leaders to share upcoming plans\, for Scouts to get to know each other\, and for families to see firsthand what makes our pack so special. \nWe’ll have plenty of time before the movie starts to mingle\, enjoy refreshments\, and talk about what’s coming up in the 2025–2026 scouting year. \nRSVP Reminder\nTo help us plan seating and refreshments\, please RSVP through the Bandapp as soon as possible. Your RSVP ensures we have enough popcorn\, drinks\, and space for everyone to enjoy the show. \n\nFAQ\nDo Scouts need to be in uniform?We’re asking Scouts to wear their Class B uniform—Pack 662 t-shirt—for comfort and pack spirit. \nCan I bring my own snacks?Yes\, though the pack will provide popcorn and drinks for everyone to enjoy. \nIs this event replacing the beach cleanup?Yes\, the beach cleanup originally scheduled for August is replaced by Movie Night.
