DESCRIPTION:Join Pack 662 on Saturday\, December 13\, 2025\, at 9:00 AM for the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Miramar National Cemetery (5795 Nobel Dr\, San Diego\, CA 92122). This meaningful event is a way to REMEMBER the fallen\, HONOR those who serve\, and TEACH our children the value of freedom. \nWe will gather as a pack for the ceremony and then help with wreath placement immediately afterward. This is a great opportunity for Scouts to take part in a service project that connects them to our country’s history and heroes. \nUniform: Scouts should wear their Class A uniform to represent Pack 662 respectfully. \nParking & Arrival: All volunteer parking will be offsite unless you have a current DMV-issued handicap placard. Please arrive at the cemetery no earlier than 8:15 AM. Offsite parking will be at the VA employee overflow lot at 6435 Miramar Rd (eastbound side). Sun Diego buses will shuttle volunteers to the cemetery starting at 7:30 AM\, with the last bus leaving the cemetery at 11:30 AM. Vehicles will be available to transport attendees from the drop-off point to the ceremony. \nRSVP: Please RSVP in Bandapp so we know who to expect. \n\nFAQ\nDo Scouts need to wear uniforms?Yes\, Class A uniforms are required for this event. \nCan families attend?Absolutely—families are encouraged to participate in both the ceremony and wreath placement.

This annual event is organized locally by I Love A Clean San Diego and is part of the global International Coastal Cleanup facilitated by The Ocean Conservancy. \nSince 1985\, Coastal Cleanup Day has brought together volunteers across San Diego County—and around the world—to remove pollution from our oceans\, waterways\, and local environments. In California\, collected data is shared with the California Coastal Commission to contribute to the world’s largest marine debris database. \nBy participating\, you’ll be joining hundreds of thousands of volunteers in over 70 countries working toward a cleaner\, healthier planet. \nMore Details to Come: Specific site assignment\, parking information\, and supply details will be shared once registration opens on August 25. \nUniform & Gear: Scouts should wear their Class B (Pack T-shirt) and bring their 6 essentials. These events are not just about having fun (although there’s plenty of that!)—they’re also an opportunity to build confidence\, learn new skills\, and make lifelong memories. Whether you’re looking for community\, outdoor adventure\, or a program that helps shape character in boys and girls\, this is the perfect time to see what we offer. \nJune: Kicking Off Summer with Local Favorites\nWe’re starting strong in June! On June 13\, we head to Nibble Chocolate for a behind-the-scenes Chocolate Factory Tour—a deliciously educational experience for all ages. The very next day\, June 14\, we’ll honor our nation during a moving Flag Retirement Ceremony at Walnut Grove Park. It’s a great way for scouts to show respect and patriotism in a meaningful setting. \nThen\, from June 23–27\, we take on a week of adventure at the Palomar District Scout Day Camp at Kit Carson Park. This is a highlight of the summer—full of crafts\, archery\, games\, and outdoor challenges that bring the Scouting spirit to life. \nJuly: Sky\, Stars\, and Splashing Fun\nJuly brings more hands-on fun\, starting with the classic Raingutter Regatta on July 13—a Pack favorite where scouts race their handmade boats and cheer each other on. Then on July 18\, we reach for the stars during The Sky Tonight Show at Palomar Planetarium. Science and space come alive in a fascinating show that captivates all ages. \nWe’ll wrap up July with Movies in the Park at Sunset Park on July 25\, where families can kick back under the stars for a relaxed evening with the Pack community. \nAugust: Coastal Adventures\nIn August\, we take advantage of our beautiful coastal surroundings. On August 10\, join us for a family-friendly Hike in Annie’s Canyon at Solana Beach—an easy yet scenic trail that’s perfect for scouts of all ages. This year’s theme is “Toys on Parade\,” celebrating memories of our favorite childhood toys. Our Scouts will march along the 2.5-mile parade route\, starting at Palomar College and heading east on Mission Road to the Civic Center. \nThis parade is part of the Kiwanis Division 37’s incredible effort\, with 12 local clubs contributing thousands of hours and dollars to support young children\, teens\, families\, and seniors in our communities. As we join in the festivities\, we’ll also be honoring the many community volunteers who selflessly give their time and resources to make a difference.
